How credible are some stuff people post on the net?

For example the post I just reblogged about the breast cancer incident.

Who knows it might be somebody just using the photo to get people to “donate”, when in fact the sad “story” may be something made up. I’m not saying that the post I just reblogged isn’t true, idk for sure myself. But my point is that with new media nowadays, its so easy to get the attention of the masses online, and its so easy to lie and get cheated too.
